Announcing: Un viaje en la canción / A Journey In Song

This summer, Patrice is composing and publishing a set of songs to texts by Spanish- and Spanish-English-language poets, thanks in part to a grant from the Alumnae of Northwestern Grants Committee. Titled "Un viaje en la canción / A Journey In Song," the set will include selections from poets of the Spanish-speaking diaspora including Argentinian-American Luis Alberto Ambroggio, San Antonian Maria Eugenia Morales, Mexican-American Abelardo Delgado and others. Poems that mingle Spanish and English are featured in this collection, modeling a message of cultural and linguistic affirmation to pre-professional teachers, young singers and audiences. NU pre-professional Music Education vocalists will have the opportunity to develop singing and teaching skills as they build relationships in the high school solo singing community, learning and teaching broad perspectives on music literature.
