Surprise! Bassist/Composer Chuck Israels is passing through Chicago just long enough to invite me to sit in for a tune at the Jazz Showcase. Talk about a dream come true!! His sextet will play a load of his arrangements, and there will definitely be some wonderful music-making in a great spot. I think "Lazy Afternoon" will be heard somewhere in the 9 - 10pm hour.
